Refund policy

When you can get your money back for export credits and subscriptions, and how to ask for it.

Try before you pay

Every tool shows you the finished design before you pay, and every account gets 3 free exports, so you can check that the files work with your printer first. The free tools have nothing to refund.

Seven days to change your mind

The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives you seven days after you buy something online to cancel without a reason. For MeshPit this means:

  • Credits you haven't used. Within seven days of buying a credit pack we refund every credit from it that is still unused, at R 20 a credit.
  • A new subscription. Within seven days of your first payment we refund it in full, as long as you haven't exported anything with the subscription. We then end the subscription.

An export is delivered the moment you ask for it, so the seven days don't apply to credits you have already spent. When you export you agree to the file being delivered straight away, which the Act allows (section 42(2)).

After seven days

  • Credits. Credits don't expire, so we don't refund unused credits after seven days. They stay in your account for when you need them.
  • Subscriptions. You can cancel any time from your account page. You keep unlimited exports until the end of the month or year you have paid for, and you are not charged again. We don't refund part of a period you have already started.
  • A renewal you forgot to cancel. If your subscription renewed and you haven't exported anything since, ask within seven days of the renewal and we will refund it.

When something goes wrong

The Consumer Protection Act entitles you to a service of the quality you could reasonably expect. If a paid export is broken because of a fault in MeshPit, for example a file that won't open or doesn't match the preview, tell us. We will fix the fault and give you the export again, or give back the credit or refund the payment, whichever you prefer.

You are only charged once a file has been built, so a failed export costs nothing. If you are ever charged twice for the same payment, or charged after a subscription ended, we refund the extra charge in full whenever you tell us. A subscription payment that fails is not charged, and you keep exporting for 3 days while you update your card.

We can't refund an export because of how a print came out, since that depends on the printer, the filament and the slicer settings. We are happy to help you get it right, though.

How to ask for a refund

Email meshpit@meshpit.co.za or use the contact form and choose "Payment or subscription". Send it from the email address you sign in with, and include the date of the payment and its Paystack reference from your receipt if you have it.

We reply within two business days. We refund to the card you paid with, through Paystack, and remove the refunded credits or subscription from your account. The money normally reaches your card within 10 business days, depending on your bank. We refund in South African rand, the amount you paid.

Your other rights

This policy adds to your rights under South African law and doesn't take any away. If you aren't happy with how we handled a refund, you can contact the National Consumer Commission at thencc.org.za.
