1. Who we are and this agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and MeshPit ("MeshPit" or "we"). Our full details are on the contact details page. By using the website, an online tool or MeshPit Desktop you agree to these terms. They work together with our privacy policy, refund policy and the prices on the pricing page. If you don't agree, please don't use MeshPit.
2. Your account
You need an account to use the Project Box Designer, Surface Features and My projects. You sign in with Google or GitHub, so keep that account secure: anything done while signed in as you counts as done by you. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
You must be 18 or older to create an account or pay, or have a parent or guardian agree to these terms for you. One person may not open several accounts to get more free exports.
3. Free tools
MeshPit Desktop, STL repair, the Lithophane Maker, PNG to SVG, Pipe Connectors, the Light Box Maker and the Cake Topper Maker are free. We may change what they do, or what is free, at any time. Something you have already paid for stays paid for.
4. Paid exports and subscriptions
Every account gets 3 free exports from the Project Box Designer and Surface Features. Further exports use credits you buy, or are unlimited while you have a subscription. Prices are in South African rand and include every charge. You pay by card through Paystack.
- An export is charged only once the file has been built, and you can download it straight away.
- Credits don't expire. They belong to your account, have no cash value, and can't be moved to another account.
- A subscription renews automatically each month or year and charges your card until you cancel it from your account page. You keep its benefits until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If we change a price, the new price applies to purchases made afterwards. We will email subscribers at least 30 days before a new subscription price applies to them, and they can cancel before it does.
- Refunds follow our refund policy, which includes your seven-day right to cancel.
5. Your files and designs
Your models, photos, pictures and designs stay yours. Most tools work on them in your browser or on your computer and never send them to us. When you save a design to My projects or export from Surface Features, you let us store and process it only to provide the service to you. We don't publish your designs or use them for anything else.
Only upload or open files you have the right to use. If you put someone else's logo, picture, font or model into a design, getting their permission is your responsibility.
The files you export are yours to print, sell and share. Exports made with free exports from the Project Box Designer carry the MeshPit logo inside the box, and you may not remove it to resell the design as your own unbranded work.
6. What you may not do
- Use MeshPit for anything illegal, or to make something that is illegal to own in South Africa.
- Get around the export limits, for example by calling our server directly, opening several accounts or sharing a subscription.
- Attack, overload, scrape or try to break into the website or our server, or copy, decompile or resell MeshPit's software.
- Upload files that contain malware or that infringe someone else's rights.
- Send spam or abusive messages through the contact form.
7. Printing and using what you make
MeshPit makes 3D models from the settings you choose. How a part prints and performs depends on your printer, filament, slicer settings and how you use it, which we can't see or control. Before you rely on a printed part, check that it fits and is strong enough. Don't use printed hooks, mounts, brackets or connectors to hold people, heavy loads or anything that could hurt someone if it fell, unless you have tested them for that use.
The Light Box Maker's electronics guide and Arduino sketch are for low-voltage LED strips. You are responsible for choosing a suitable power supply and wiring it safely. Never connect a light box to mains power directly.
The guides are general information to help you, not professional engineering or electrical advice.
8. MeshPit's own work
The MeshPit name, logo, website, software, built-in pictures and guides belong to us. These terms let you use them to make your own designs, and nothing more.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep MeshPit running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of bugs. We may need to pause it for maintenance, or change or remove a tool. If we close a paid tool, we will refund unused credits and the unused part of any subscription.
10. If something goes wrong
If a paid export is faulty because of an error in MeshPit, we will fix it, give the export again, or refund it, as our refund policy explains. Tell us about problems at meshpit@meshpit.co.za and we will try to put them right.
11. Limits on our liability
As far as South African law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as wasted filament, printer time, lost profit or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits don't apply to loss caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and they don't reduce any right the Consumer Protection Act gives you that can't be excluded.
12. Closing your account
You can stop using MeshPit at any time, and ask us to delete your account at meshpit@meshpit.co.za. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. We will tell you why, and give you a chance to respond first unless the breach is unlawful or harms other users. If we close an account without good reason, we refund its unused credits and subscription time.
13. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update the date at the top of the page. For a change that affects account holders, we email them at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using MeshPit after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can close your account, and we refund unused subscription time.
14. Law and disputes
South African law governs these terms. Please contact us first if you have a complaint, and we will try to solve it with you. You can also go to the National Consumer Commission (thencc.org.za), the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (cgso.org.za) or a South African court. Nothing here takes away a right you have as a consumer under South African law.
